Is Hide and Seek a traditional game?

So in a campaign I'm running soon, I'm rockin' a labyrinth with classic minotaur guardian. The problem being, running mazes is usually boring, and from my experiences being a player and going through one, they are boring to play through.
I've tried to spice it up a bit with the bigger more important rooms kind of stuck in the middle so they are found more often.
Anyway, what are some suggestions for running mazes/labyrinths? Experiences running/playing mazes welcomed.
