Druids

No.14790114 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hello /tg/,

I have never played a D&D tabletop myself but bear with me. I'm a huge fan of the cRPG's it spawned but one thing always puzzled me, druids are so terrible in cRPG's yet people say they're game breaking in PnP.

I asked a fella why some time ago and he told a story of a guy who ended up summoning an octopus, putting it on his head and taking over a town or someshit pretending to be a beholder.

There were a couple of others that stood out but essentially what I'm asking is. Got any ridiculous as fuck druid stories in D&D?

Hey guys. Talk about that one RPG. You know. That one RPG with the Traders.

Anyway, I'm thinking of buying the books, and while I have role-played with my friends before with a shitty home-brew D&D knock off, I dunno if they'd want to play it. Also, I would like to play some games as a Ork for once. The last time, I was GMing for almost all games.

So yeah, /tg/ you think i should go for it?

Also discuss the game and what not. Extra points for funny.

Thrallherd, /tg/. It's a paragon path in D&D 4e open to Psions that gives you constant an total control of a minion that can be anything from a generic beast to a sentient humanoid your party has encountered before.

Psionic Power, where it's found, offers up that it's a good idea to play it as a megalomaniacal mastermind, goading others over your thrall, and implying that perhaps they are all your thralls and just don't know it. To me, though, that sounds like an excellent way to find two daggers, a shortsword, and a battleaxe lodged in the red paste that was once your body.

So, good ways to roleplay a psion that has constant and unwavering mental dominion over a single creature?

Sup /tg/,

I'm a WW2 fag and I'm trying to start playing Flames of War. I have the rulebook and a Intelligence book, and with my group we are choosing our sides. I would like to know if its a good idea to invest in this game, how good is the game once you play some battles, and what is the tactical style of each faction

So, I GMed a session yesterday with the group, I am usually a player, but I was doing a guest session.

After some intro play, I had the normal GM, now an information broker in astronomical debt, tell the players about a really good lead on a treasure.

They, like any good players should, went straight for the bait.(I probably would have myself)

When they got to the system in question, I let them cruise towards the target planet for a couple of hours, then a ship emerged close to them. Things got edgy, the players were uncertain of what to to, but maintained an intercept course.

I asked them aloud: "Does anyone want to take any action?", then, after I got no reply, the unknown contact changed course to intercept.

They still did nothing, until the contact launched torpedoes.

A little background: The players had installed an AI, this got out, and now they were facing a frigate under the command of an inquisitor.

Short version: I crippled them, they launched an atomic and obliterated the frigate, after the inquisitor and his stormtroopers had teleported aboard. They raided the AI room, then broke into the munitorium and rigged a bomb.

>walking back home with a friend after an uneventful day
>suddenly from a house we walk by, someone tries to call us over from a window
>we get closer and see its a granny-looking old woman. she opens the window and begs us to come over and take her with us
>while we`re trying to understand what is happening, a guy in a suit and a little girl appear behind the old woman, grab her and pull her back inside as she tries to struggle.
>a few minutes of silence later the little girl comes out and tell us to go away
